Birding in the Breedekloof

The area is a bird watcher's paradise with over 150 different species spotted. The resident pair of fish eagles share a view of the river with you. With the gentle flow of the Breede river literally on your doorstep, and with a canoe and rowing boat provided at each cottage there is no better way to view the various kingfishers, weavers, bee-eaters, swallows and other smaller birds operating between the river and the vegetation. Our neighbouring Wine Estate, Bergsig, has a number of bird watching days held each year. Get your permit from the wine tasting area and explore their hides and walks.
